I have been making matcha lattes for years, but I only recently discovered that I can completely eliminate sugar from the drink by using medjool dates. This creates the creamiest, most decadent latte I have ever had!
You may have tried Starbucks green tea latte. While I can't deny that it’s tasty, a Grande packs nearly three tablespoons of sugar—yikes! My version is fruit-sweetened. Using just one medjool date adds the perfect amount of sweetness without imparting any date flavor. Dates are a low glycemic, whole food sweetener and are rich in copper, magnesium, manganese, potassium, B vitamins and fiber.
